Shammara Hasty has more than 16 years of experience designing, managing and auditing corporate compliance programs in different industries. She also develops curriculum and instructs higher education courses, as an adjunct professor, in Human Resources Management, and Leadership and Organizational Change for Undergraduate Programs. Her experience includes developing and implementing polices and procedure, organizational strategies, developing and conducting training programs, directing compliance audit activities, developing communication and deployment strategies for program integration, performing gap analyses, risk assessment and mitigation plan development. Shammara also has experience preparing organizations for regulatory audits by conducting document reviews, developing test plans, and conducting mock audits.
Shammara holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and Legal Assistant Certificate from Samford University and a Masters in Public Administration, Public Policy and Law from Walden University. She also holds a certificate from Cornell University in Human Resources Strategic Leadership and has completed multiple courses in Project Management from the Project Management Institute. She was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corps in 2001 after serving on active duty as Clerk of Court. Shammara is the owner of A Classy Closet LLC, a women’s fashion boutique and also a Mary Kay Independent Beauty Consultant.
She is an active volunteer with American Red Cross (Services to the Armed Forces Committee), Charlotte Men’s Shelter, Charlotte Bridge Home, and a founding member of the Charlotte Veterans Women’s Group. She has been a member of the Optimist International’s Birmingham-West End Optimist Club since 2004, holding various leadership positions such as President and Oratorical Contest Chair. She also served President of a major electric utility’s veterans affinity group for two years, Vice Chair for one year, and Community Outreach Chair for one year. She currently serves as a Board Member for the Taiwo Foundation and as a member of the Grants Committee for the North Carolina Heroes Fund.
Shammara also supports Second Harvest Food Bank, The Salvation Army Center for Hope, Community Based Initiative (C.B.I), and The Alabama Kidney Foundation.
Shammara enjoys spending time with friends and family, gardening, and stay-cations.
Angela Martin is a native of Greenville, SC where, she graduated from the International Studies program at Southside High School. Angela received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University in Atlanta, Georgia and her Masters of Business Administration from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.
She began her career in marketing with S.A.L.E.S., Inc. where she created marketing campaigns for rental properties. This was followed by 7 years with Michelin North America, where she worked as a Territory Manager in the Southern California and Las Vegas markets as well as a Customer Trainer at the North American headquarters in her hometown of Greenville, SC.
After several years in the oil and gas industry in Houston, TX, as a Leadership and Learning Leader, Angela decided to start her own consultancy and began to work with non-profits, religious organizations and radio in the areas of administration and leadership. In 2016, Ms. Martin joined Hunt Refining Company in Tuscaloosa, AL, where she is the Senior Talent Development Representative. She manages Professional development, succession planning and employee retention and engagement efforts.
Angela volunteers with Junior Achievement, a United Way Loaned Executive, Adopt-a-School Coordinator and volunteer at a local elementary school and serves as a Big Brothers Big Sisters mentor. She currently serves as the Executive Director for AParent Miracle, Inc., a non-profit based in Atlanta, GA aimed at assisting single parents in becoming financially literate and independent and a Board Member for the Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama.
In addition to her work at Hunt Refining she currently serves as a guest instructor at the University of Alabama in the College of Continuing Studies where she is an Executive feedback coach and leads workshops on resolving workplace conflict, generations in the workplace, diversity and inclusion and the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) exam preparation course.
Angela is a certified trainer/facilitator, PROSCI change manager, Master Instructional Designer and SHRM-Certified Professional.
